Whether it is due to weight loss, pregnancy or simply age, breasts can sag and become droppy over time. If the breast has a deflated appearance it may affect a woman’s confidence and this can result in being self- conscious of how the breasts look in certain clothes and on the beach.

Breast lift surgery or mastoplexy is designed to lift the breast but with no increase in size. The aim of surgery is to reposition the nipple, pull up the breast tissue and reduce the amount of skin. The breast lift procedure is based on a breast reduction, but in this case no breast tissue is removed.

In the procedure the breasts are reshaped and excess skin is removed, the remaining skin is tightened as the incisions are closed. Some incision lines resulting from breast lifts are concealed in the natural breast contours and others are visible on the breast surface. Incision lines are permanent, but in most cases will fade and significantly improve over time.

After the surgery the results of your breast lift will appear over the next few months as breast shape and position continue to settle. The final result will be an uplifted bust line with a more youthful appearance.
